MetLib Conference 2014

What to pack

OK, it is fair to say that in May 2014 you might need to bring a sweater and jacket with you. No snow or sleet but it will be winter and there might be some rain. One travel guide advises:

New Zealand is a land of extremes so you should bring clothing to cover all seasons and weather conditions, no matter what time of the year you are visiting!

Restaurants and hotels generally accept tidy, casual clothing.  Nightclubs accept tidy dress…. Swimmers at beaches, pools and lakes should always wear bathing suits.  When adventuring into the outdoors, no matter how long you are going for, always take a change of spare, dry, warm clothes.

Swimming? Yep, for those of you staying in a hotel with a heated pool.

People preparing for MetLib 2014 will enjoy this YouTube video. It explains what will happen when we visit the Te Noho Kotahitanga marae (a marae is a house for gathering and the meeting space outside it). This is a very beautiful marae in the grounds of a tertiary institution. Its rich artwork depicts the history of the area, the region and our country. This award-winning complex has won glowing accolades and awards.
